This blog started off as a personal attempt to glean Dharma wisdom from as many Buddhist, or non-Buddhist, sources as I could find in order to help deepen my own study and practice of Buddha‘s teachings and hopefully help others to do so too. The idea was not to pontificate but to provide as much material for contemplation from as many diverse sources as I could find, and thereby hopefully provide, over time, a resource that all could use. High ambition certainly, but, true to my character, I have become distracted by topics in ‘the real world’ that have grabbed my attention, primarily topics such as climate change, peak oil, and the global financial crisis that started in 2007. These topics, I have discovered, are intricately interlinked and interdependently originated, and they now collectively form part of the biggest existential crisis humanity has ever had to face, a crisis that is ultimately rooted in what we humans do, say, and think.  This emerging global crisis of our times is the worldy ‘dharma’, or ‘conventional truth’, that I am now trying to explore in this blog in the hope that the Dharma as taught by Buddha – especially the ‘ultimate truth’ of Dharma wisdom – can help in understanding and resolving  this crisis, or at least help me and others adapt to, and cope with, this crisis as it unfolds, or even, because of the crisis, find the way to lasting happiness. May everyone be happy! May everyone be free from misery!
